7η: Predazzo/Val di Fiemme – Folgaria

Η προτελευταία μέρα του αγώνα επιφυλάσσει δυσκολίες για τις ομάδες
που παραμένουν στο παιχνίδι. Περισσότερα από 102 χιλιόμετρα και περίπου
3000 μέτρα ανάβασης περιμένουν τους αγωνιζόμενους σήμερα Παρασκευή 20/7.
Πριν από αυτά, θα πραγματοποιηθεί μια προθέρμανση 18 χιλιομέτρων και
έπειτα οι ποδηλάτες θα αρχίσουν να ανεβαίνουν στο Manghenpass, το οποίο
δεν είναι αρκετά απαιτητικό. Θα ακολουθήσει κάθοδος προς το Val Sugana
και κατόπιν πάλι ανάβαση στο ιστορικό Kaiserjaegerweg στο οποίο
Αυστριακοί στρατιώτες πήγαν στον 1ο Παγκόσμιο Πόλεμο. Ωστόσο, μετά ο

Kevin Evans and Brandon Stewart are the winners of the sixth stage of
the 2007 JEANTEX BIKE TRANSALP, which led from Arabba to Predazzo/Val di
Fiemme (3:38:05.5). After 76.13 kilometres and 2,702 metres of elevation
gain, team “Adidas Mtn” successfully competed in the final sprint for
victory against leading bikers of “Team Bulls”, Karl Platt and Stefan
Sahm (3:38:06). Andreas Strobel and Silvio Wieltschnig of “Fiat Rotwild”
placed third (3:38:23) ahead of “Team Texpa-Simplon” with Alexander
Pscheidl and Christian Schneidawind (3:38:26).

Over the whole race, it was getting more and more obvious that
the spectators in Predazzo would be able to follow a close decision for
today’s triumph. Right at the first ascent up to the Passo Pardon, a
group of six pairings was able to race off the rest of the field. It was
only after the Karerpass, when two combinations had to let go, so “Team
Bulls”, “Team Texpa-Simplon”, “Fiat Rotwild” and “Adidas Mtn” where
tackling the Passo Feudo together. “In the beginning, the race was
pretty mellow so we were able to stay with the leading teams. At the
second-to-last climb we attacked and were able to split the group”, said
Kevin Evans, who in the end crossed the finish line first.

Before the sprint for victory, the later on two top
rider-connections were able to gain the decisive lead in the very steep
last downhill section – with the better end for the South Africans.
“Beside my two national titles in the cross country and marathon, this
is my best win this year”, said Evans proudly.

Ganser/Niggl with a small comeback in the senior master category

The “Sport Team Buhler/Gat Kempten-Gox” is back to business after an
impressive performance today (4:13:11). Due to their good result, both
Germans Ferdinand Ganser and Georg Niggl diminished their gap in the
overall ranking by 8.38 minutes to 7.31 minutes to today’s second placed
“D’Uerner Oldies” Walter Ehrler and Markus Gisler (4:21:50). Like the
last days, Norway ’s Terje Lund and Sigurd Roeggen of “Ryegutta” came in
third (4:34:28).

“Team KTM” is still dominating the masters classification

Ekkehard Doerschlag and Heinz Zoerweg have brought home their sixth
triumph in a row. The two Austrians of “Team KTM” crossed the finish
line after 3:41:29 hours and thus relegated the South African connection
“Adidas William Simpson” with Doug Brown and Shan Wilson with a lead of
more than twenty minutes to the second spot (4:01:48). Baerti Bucher and
Renato Burch of “Sponsor Food Sports” managed the course as third with
the time of 4:04:12 hours.

“Team Raven Canada ” celebrates third day victory

Once again, Marg Fedyna and Nikki Allen proofed, what could have
been possible if Nikki Kassel didn’t have to bike the first days
suffering from fever. With a lead of almost six minutes to the bearers
of the Pink Jersey Sandra and Peggy Klose of “Zwillingscraft” (4:29:15),
both Canadians of “Team Raven Canada” rolled in the finish in Arabba
after 4:23:25 hours. Kerstin Brachtendorf and Daniθle Troesch of “Fiat
Rotwild-Damen” jumped back on the podium after yesterday’s setback as
third (4:35:34).

“We had a good day and fun”, said Marg Fedyna after the race. “The
high-a-bike up to the Passo Padon was our advantage. We loved it.” Asked
for what might be possible the last two days, she answered: “We do our
best and try to have fun. If this means winning it would be a great bonus.”

“Rocky Mountain/Haywood” furthermore on top

Alison Sydor and Carsten Bresser of “Rocky Mountain/Haywood” have
secured their sixth triumph at the 2007 JEANTEX BIKE TRANSALP. The
Canadian-German connection managed today’s 76.13 kilometres from Arabba
to Predazzo/Val di Fiemme in 4:15:15 hours. The “Ciclopia Pro Team”
consisting of Baerbel Jungmeier and Werner Fischer made it as second
mixed team in 4:19:25 hours. Conny and Walter Marquardt were all smiles
because of their first podium at the Alp crossing race finishing third
today (4:33:15).

Preview stage 7: Predazzo/Val di Fiemme – Folgaria

On the second-to-last day, the king stage awaits the remaining
teams, which have accepted the challenge of an Alp crossing. More than
102 kilometres and about 3,000 metres of elevation gain have to be
vanquished. But before everybody has to fall back on one’s reserves, 18
kilometres of rolling in is kind of a warm-up. Then, the bikers hit the
long step-up to the Manghenpass, which is not very demanding of biking
skills, just as well as the following descent down to the Val Sugana and
the next ascent passage on the historical Kaiserjaegerweg on which
Austrian soldiers went to the First World War. But thereafter, the
character of the stage changes completely. The route to Folgaria runs on
demanding trails and forest roads with the look of a saw blade.

κατηγορίας των ανδρών τερμάτισαν χθες οι Χρήστος Μακρυγιάννης και
Γιώργος Ουζουνίδης στο 5ο ΕΤΑΠ του JEANTEX BIKE TRANSALP, κατέχοντας
μέχρι στιγμής την 206η θέση στη γενική. Η ελληνική ομάδα χρειάστηκε
4:42.43,7 για να καλύψει μια απόσταση 10 χιλιομέτρων που αποτελείτο από
δύσβατα μονοπάτια με χαλικόστρωση, λόγος άλλωστε που οδήγησε σε ελαφρύ
τραυματισμό τον έναν από τους Έλληνες συμμετέχοντες, τον Χρήστο Μακρυγιάννη.

Όλα δείχνουν πάντως ότι οι δύο αθλητές συνεχίζουν με πείσμα την
προσπάθεια τους αγωνιζόμενοι σε έναν πραγματικά δύσκολο εγχείρημα.

Γενικά

Οι Karl Platt και Stefan Sahm έχουν ήδη κερδίσει τα πέντε από τα
οχτώ συνολικά ετάπ του JEANTEX BIKE TRANSALP. Και οι δύο αθλητές της
“Team Bulls” χρειάστηκαν 2:35:56 ώρες για να καλύψουν μια απόσταση 50.91
χιλιομέτρων που περιελάμβανε και 2,337 μέτρα ανάβαση από το San Vigilio
Marebbe-Enneberg προς την Arabba. Περίπου 3 λεπτά αργότερα, τερμάτισαν
επίσης οι Andreas Strobel και Silvio Wieltschnig της “Fiat Rotwild”
(2:39:01). Η “Team Texpa-Simplon” με τους Alexander Pscheidl και

Σκληρή μέρα για τον Andreas Strobel

Χθες, το γεγονός ότι οι αναβάτες της Υellow Jersey πήγαν πολύ
καλύτερα ανεβαίνοντας σημαντικά στην κατάταξη ήρθε σε δεύτερη μοίρα,
αφού όλοι ασχολήθηκαν με την συντριβή του Αndreas Strobel της “Fiat
Rotwild” που έπεσε σε μια εύκολη σχετικά κατάβαση και υπέστη τραυματισμό
στο ισχίο και στον ώμο. “Ο Andreas έχασε τον έλεγχο όταν χτύπησε έναν
αρουραίο. Γλίστρησε η μπροστινή του ρόδα και πετάχτηκε πάνω από το
ποδήλατο. Μετά περιμέναμε να δούμε πως ήταν”, εξήγησε ο Stefan Sahm που
έτρεχε ακριβώς πίσω του. Ο Strobel πρόσθεσε: “I just slipped on the
gravel. I wasn’t able to react at all. I crucified myself to the finish
struggling with bloodstream problems. The whole time I felt sick.”

Klose twins enlarge their lead in the women category

Οι Sandra και Peggy Klose της ομάδας “Zwillingscraft” στάθηκαν
ικανές να ανέβουν λίγο στην κατάταξη στην κατηγορία των γυναικών. Οι

6ο Ετάπ: Arabba – Predazzo/Val di Fiemme

του αγώνα βρισκόμενο 2,371 μέτρα πάνω από τη θάλασσα. Μετά από μια
μακριά ανάβαση σε αμμοχάλικο, ακολουθεί ένα ακόμη κομμάτι όπου οι
συμμετέχοντες έχουν να ωθήσουν τα ποδήλατα τους μέσα στο ski slope.

Έκτοτε, δίνεται η δυνατότητα να ανακτήσει κανείς τις δυνάμεις τους
από τις πιέσεις της ανάβασης καθώς ακολουθούν 30 χιλιόμετρα καθόδου μέσα
στο Fassatal και μετά στο Moena και στο Karerpass. Κατόπιν, ακολουθούν
οι δρόμοι αμμοχάλικου κατά μήκος του Τemplweg καθώς και η ανάβαση της
τελευταίας κορυφής της ημέρα, το Passo Feudo. Θα ακολουθήσει απότομη

Karl
Platt and Stefan Sahm have won the fifth of eight stages of the 2007
JEANTEX BIKE TRANSALP. Both pros of “Team Bulls” needed 2:35:56 hours
for the 50.91 kilometres long course including 2,337 metres of elevation
gain from San Vigilio Marebbe-Enneberg to Arabba. About three minutes
later, Andreas Strobel and Silvio Wieltschnig of “Fiat Rotwild” made it
to the finish (2:39:01). “Team Texpa-Simplon” with Alexander Pscheidl
and Christian Schneidawind finished third (2:40:43).

At the last ascent up to Pralongia, Platt/Sahm had pushed the pedal
and therefore gained the decisive lead after the top-3 of the first half
of the Alp crossing stage race were riding together the longest part of
the course. Both now have a lead of 8:42 minutes on second ranked
combination Strobel/Wieltschnig who had to deal with a crash today.

Tough day for Andreas Strobel

Today, the fact that the bearers of the Yellow Jersey enlarged their
lead was of second rate because Andreas Strobel of “Fiat Rotwild”
crashed on an easy downhill and therefore suffered injuries at the right
shoulder and hip. “Andreas lost control when he unfortunately hit the
top part of a rat. He slipped away with his front wheel and flew over
the bike. We then waited a bit to find out how he is doing”, explained
Stefan Sahm who was racing right behind of the unlucky fellow. Strobel
added: “I just slipped on the gravel. I wasn’t able to react at all. I
crucified myself to the finish struggling with bloodstream problems. The
whole time I felt sick.”

Klose twins enlarge their lead in the women category

Sandra and Peggy Klose of team “Zwillingscraft” were able to put
some more minutes on their lead in the ladies’ classification due to
their second win today. The bearers of the Pink Jersey reached Arabba in
3:23:39 hours. Only 48.21 seconds later, Kirsten Roesel and Milena
Landtwing of “Team Fujibike-Haibike” crossed the finish line (3:24:46)
and therefore celebrated their best result so far. 15 minutes after the
winners, third placed Marg Fedyna and Nikki Kassel of “Team Raven
Canada” came in (3:38:49).

“Team KTM” again unbeatable

Ekkehard Doerschlag and Heinz Zoerweg are all alone on top of the
masters ranking. Both Austrian athletes of “Team KTM” needed 2:46:18
hours for the shortest leg of Europe ’s toughest mountain bike stage
race. The second and third placed teams “Nordic Sportscenter” (2:58:38)
consisting of Danes Henrik Cohen and Thomas Aaboe as well as Doug Brown
and Shan Wilson of “Adidas William Simpson” (2:58:53) rolled in about
12.5 minutes later.

Despite their big lead the two owners of the Blue Jersey seem to
have some more reserves left. “Referring to the table, we don’t feel any
pressure from the runner-ups. Thus, we had the chance to enjoy the
panorama course and its beauty. We saved some energy for the last days,
so we can win them, too”, said Heinz Zoerweg.

“Rocky Mountain/Haywood” also with no problems at all

Alison Sydor and Carsten Bresser have also brought home their fifth
day victory. Canada ’s Olympic Silver medallist of Atlanta and her
German partner of “Rocky Mountain/Haywood” managed the course from St.
Vigil to Arabba in 3:08:41 hours. The Austrian-Swiss “Ciclopia Pro Team”
with Baerbel Jungmeier and Werner Fischer were 3:11:08 hours on the
road. 14 minutes later, US-Americans Louise Kobin and Eric Warkentin of
the pairing “Xfusion/Shoair” placed third (3:25:37).

After the race, serial winner Carsten Bresser said: “I guess this
was the nicest leg so far although the 50 kilometres were pretty
challenging. Alison is in good shape and we are able to ride our rhythm.
That’s good because our competitors are stronger compared to the ones at
the BIKE TRANS GERMANY. There are three chances left to beat us.”

“’D’Uerner Oldies” celebrate fourth triumph in a row

Walter Ehrler and Markus Gisler of the combination “D’Uerner Oldies”
will bike in the Green Jersey tomorrow again. Both riders from
Switzerland could enlarge their lead by some more 4.5 minutes due to
their strong performance today making it to Arabba in 3:11:21 hours. The
“Sport Team Buhler/Gat Kempten-Gox” reached the stage town newbie in
3:16:02 hours. About two minutes later, Norway’s Terje Lund and Sigurd
Roeggen of “Ryegutta” made it to Arabba (3:18:11).

Right in the finish area, Markus Gisler referred to the strength of
the “D’Uerner Oldies”: “We are biking consistently. In addition, the
older one from us (Walter, 56-years-old) is making the pace. He is
riding like a Swiss watch.”

Preview stage 6: Arabba – Predazzo/Val di Fiemme

A brand new saddle awaits the teams of the JEANTEX BIKE TRANSALP on
the sixth leg which is 76.13 kilometres long including 2,702 metres of
elevation gain: the Passo Padon which is in addition the roof of the
stage race with 2,371 metres above sea level. After a long gravel
ascent, the only section follows, where the participants have to shove
their mountain bikes across the ski slope.

Thereafter, everyone gets the chance to recover from the stresses
and strains on a 30 kilometres long descent into the Fassatal and
further on to Moena where it’s time to make it up to the Karerpass.
Then, gravel roads along the Templweg follow as well as the last peak of
day six, the Passo Feudo. On a steep downhill, the field enters the new
stage town Predazzo/Val di Fiemme.

από την απόδοση τους μέχρι τώρα.

«Ο αγώνας είναι αρκετά σκληρός και απαιτητικός, ενώ η κούραση
λειτουργεί σωρευτικά, αφού το διάστημα της ξεκούρασης δεν επαρκεί για να
ανακτήσουμε τις δυνάμεις μας. Οι ομάδες που αγωνίζονται είναι πάρα πολύ
καλές και δυνατές, ώστε να μην καταφέρνουμε να πιάσουμε καλές θέσεις
τόσο στην κατηγορία μας όσο και στη γενική» δηλώνει ο Χρήστος
Μακρυγιάννης που ήδη βρίσκεται στην πέμπτη μέρα του αγώνα. Αν και
καταπονημένος συνεχίζει με πείσμα, παίρνοντας και δίνοντας κουράγιο από
και στον συναθλητή του Γιώργο. Ευχόμαστε καλή δύναμη.

Όπως και τις προηγούμενες μέρες, έτσι και εχθές Τρίτη, οι ομάδες
“Team Bulls” και “Fiat Rotwild” επικράτησαν του αγώνα. Στο τέλος της
χθεσινής αγωνιστικής, ο Karl Platt, ο Stefan Sahm, ο Ανδρέας Strobel και
ο Silvio Wieltschnig διέσχισαν τη γραμμή τέρματος ακριβώς στον ίδιο
χρόνο (3:20.19,7). Παράλληλα, ο Αλέξανδρος Pscheidl και ο Christian
Schneidawind της “Team Texpa-Simplon” διαχειρίστηκαν τα 67,48
χιλιόμετρα κούρσας από το Brixen στο SAN Vigilio Marebbe-Enneberg, που

Στάδιο 5 – Τετάρτη 18/7 : San Vigilio Marebbe-Enneberg – Arabba

Μετά από μια εν μέρει πολύ απότομη αύξηση αμμοχάλικου στην οδική
διαδρομή στο Ritjoch, οι ποδηλάτες οδηγούνται στην καρδιά των Dolomites.
Πέρα από το Armentarawiesen και κάτω από το εντυπωσιακό Kreuzkofel, η
πορεία πηγαίνει στο Gadertal και έκτοτε ομαλά μέχρι την Pralongia. Ο
δρόμος με το αμμοχάλικο μεταφέρει προς τα κάτω το καραβάνι του Transalp,
στη νέα πόλη Arabba όπου θα γίνει η διανυκτέρευση.

Two
combinations have caused an absolute novelty in the history of the
JEANTEX BIKE TRANSALP. Like yesterday, “Team Bulls” and the pairing
“Fiat Rotwild” were head to head and fighting in a photo finish for
victory. In the end, Karl Platt, Stefan Sahm, Andreas Strobel and Silvio
Wieltschnig crossed the finish line at exactly the same time
(3:20:19.7). Alexander Pscheidl and Christian Schneidawind of “Team
Texpa-Simplon” managed the 67.48 kilometres long course from Brixen to
San Vigilio Marebbe-Enneberg which was peppered with 3,012 metres of
altitude in 3:27:23 hours placing third.

Above all, the enthralling
finish of today’s stage made a splash, so all bikers, fans and officials
were talking about it. Nobody could believe that two teams finished even
after 67.48 kilometres. “That was perfect timing” said Andreas Strobel
all smiles. “We just rode our way. The result was an accident.”

Karl Platt, who is still in the lead together with his team mate
Stefan Sahm, said jestingly: “We are pros”. But he also summarized the
fourth leg of the Alp crossing stage race: “I was in a good shape today
despite the heat and the two long ascents. It was very hard but the last
downhill compensated the stresses and strains racing towards St. Vigil
with a maximum of 86 km/h.”

New leaders in the senior master category

The race in the senior master category was less close than the one
on the men’s side but more decisive. Due to their third day victory,
Walter Ehrler and Markus Gisler of “D’Uerner Oldies” were able to take
over the lead in their classification. Both Swiss mountain bikers needed
4:03:59 hours from Brixen to San Vigilio Marebbe-Enneberg and have now a
lead about eleven minutes on the former bearers of the green jerseys.

Franco Martini and Ezio Polo of “I Pensionati” came in second with a
time of 4:11:29 hours jumping on the podium for the first time. Former
fastest men in the senior masters category Ferdinand Ganser and Georg
Niggl of “Sport Team Buhler/Gat Kempten-Gox” placed third (4:17:38).

“Team Raven Canada ” with back to back win

Marg Fedyna and Nikki Kassel have also competed successfully today
after they won yesterday’s leg. Both Canadians made it to the finish in
4:10:43 hours. 2.5 minutes later, they were followed by the twins Sandra
and Peggy Klose of “Zwillingscraft”, who easily defended the pink jersey
(4:13:20). “Team Haibike-Fujibike” with Kirsten Roesel and Milena
Landtwing rolled over the finish line as third (4:16:13).

Fourth victory in a row for “Team KTM”

Ekkehard Doerschlag and Heinz Zoerweg have also won the fourth leg
of the 2007 JEANTEX BIKE TRANSALP. Both Austrians pedalled 3:30:32 hours
to San Vigilio Marebbe-Enneberg and therefore are leading the master
classification unchallenged. Piergiorgio Dellagiacoma and Gianfranco
Degiampietro of the “Val di Fiemme Team” secured the second spot

“Rocky Mountain/Haywood” undisputable leaders

Who should stop Alison Sydor and Carsten Bresser? After their
performance today, one must confess that no one can do so. Today, the
Canadian-German duo of “Rocky Mountain/Haywood” was once more the
fastest mixed team with 3:54:29 hours. Baerbel Jungmeier and Werner
Fischer of “Ciclopia Pro Team” finished as runner-up (4:11:47).
US-Americans Louise Kobin and Eric Warkentin of “Xfusion/Shoair”
celebrated their first podium placing as third (4:22:19).

Preview stage 5: San Vigilio Marebbe-Enneberg – Arabba

The shortest leg of this year’s race consists to 100 percent of the
debut route. After a partly very steep gravel road step-up to the
Ritjoch the route leads into the heart of the Dolomites. Across the
Armentarawiesen beneath the impressive Kreuzkofel the bikers cycle into
the Gadertal and thereafter smoothly up to Pralongia. The gravel road
downhill brings the Transalp caravan to the new stage town Arabba.

Η σημερινή τέταρτη ημέρα
του αγώνα είναι λιγότερο προκλητική όσο αφορά τις δεξιότητες οδήγησης,
αλλά απαιτεί μεγάλη δύναμη. Για να απολαύσουν τα φανταστικά τοπία στους
Dolomites, οι ποδηλάτες πρέπει να τα καταφέρουν μέχρι το όρος Rodenecker
μέσα από έναν μακρύ ασφαλτόδρομο και μικροσκοπικές δευτερεύουσες διαδρομές.

Μετά από την κάθοδο στο Pustertal, μια άλλη πρόκληση του Jeantex
Bike Transalp περιμένει τους αναβάτες στο τέλος της ημέρας: είναι το
Kronplatz. Πρόκειται για περίπου 1.200 μέτρα ανύψωσης. Μετά από έναν
κύκλο της κορυφής του βουνού στη διαδρομή πανοράματος, ο αγώνας
«αποφορτίζεται» στο SAN Vigilio Marebbe-Enneberg. Ευχόμαστε στην
ελληνική ομάδα καλή δύναμη.

Το BN Cycling προσπαθεί να αντιμετωπίσει τις μη ευνοϊκές συνθήκες
για πρόσβαση στο διαδίκτυο στην περιοχή που εξελίσσεται ο αγώνας και
σύντομα αναμένεται να έχει και φωτογραφικό υλικό.

The third stage of the 2007 JEANTEX BIKE TRANSALP ended with a photo
finish. Andreas Strobel and Silvio Wieltschnig of “Fiat Rotwild” were
the lucky bikers who took home the victory (3:36:54.2) beating the
current bearers of the yellow leader jersey of “Team Bulls” by only
three tenth of a second (3:36:54.5). The battle for third on the course
from Mayrhofen to Brixen was also a very close decision. After 94.4
kilometres and 2.252 metres of elevation gain, the South African duo
“Adidas Mtn” with Kevin Evans and Brandon Stewart rolled over the finish
line after 3:45:40.0 hours relegating Alexander Pscheidl and Christian
Schneidawind of “Team Texpa-Simplon” with a tiny lead to the fourth rank
(3:45:40.4) and therefore was able to celebrate the first podium at the
Alp crossing.

That it would be a very close finish of today’s leg was
getting more and more obvious throughout the whole day. Right at the
only saddle of the stage, the Pfitscherjoch (2.251), both top teams were
able to race off the field. During the day, Platt/Sahm and
Strobel/Wieltschnig enlarged their lead minute by minute.

“I was expecting a quite start but Karl (Platt) pushed the pedal
right when we entered the ascent up to the Pfitscherjoch”, explained
Silvio Wieltschnig after the race. The Austrian said further on: “We are
proud that we won today. Maybe, it’s possible to attack a little bit
more. There are a few more days to come.”

His team mate Andreas Strobel added: “Normally, Team Bulls is
stronger than we are but never say never. You never know. Maybe we get
some bird wings in the Dolomites. But the focus is still on today. It
was our dream to win one stage and we made it!”

Canadians celebrate first victory in the women’s category

Who would have thought it? Marg Fedyna and Nikki Kassel of “Team
Raven Canada” upstaged the so far dominating women teams. After 4:17:00
hours, Canada ’s bikers crossed the finish line. More than two minutes
later, Brachtendorf/Troesch of team “Fiat Rotwild-Damen” came in
(4:19:08). Another 1:45 behind, twins Sandra and Peggy Close of
“Zwillingscraft” made it to Brixen (4:20:53). The two sisters were able
to defend the pink jersey despite a ripped chain.

Nobody really expected today’s winners, who gained the decisive lead
on the last trail 17 kilometres before Brixen, because Nikki Kassel had
to struggle with some health problems during the last two days. She
said: “I was sick and had high fever. No we are back!” The partner of
the Transalp newbie and now three time participator Marg Fedya
underlined. “I was expecting us to do well. But we had bad luck the last
days.”

“D’Uerner Oldies” with second leg victory

The lead of the fastest senior masters is melting because Walter
Ehrler and Markus Gisler were able to make it to the finish in South
Tyrol 32 seconds earlier than the bearers of the green jersey. The two
Swiss mountain bikers needed 4:16:41 hours for the route from Mayrhofen
to Brixen and thus are only having a gap of 2.12 minutes left to
Ganser/Niggl. The German senior master leaders of “Sport Team Buhler/Gat
Kempten-Gox” ended up as second (4:17:13) ahead of Norway ’s Terje Lund
and Sigurd Roeggen of “Ryegutta” (4:29:57).

Third triumph on third stage

Ekkehard Doerschlag and Heinz Zoerweg are on fire. The two Austrian
bikers also dominated the third stage of the JEANTEX BIKE TRANSALP in
the master category. After 3:45:41 hours, “Team KTM” entered the finish
sack in Brixen. South Africans Doug Brown and Shan Wilson of “Adidas
William Simpson” came in second (3:51:59) followed by “Val di Fiemme
Team” Piergiorgio Dellagiacoma and Gianfranco Degiampietro (4:01:19).

“Rocky Mountain/Haywood” unbeatable in the mixed classification

Alison Sydor and Carsten Bresser are still setting the tone in the
mixed classification. Team “Rocky Mountain/Haywood” needed 3:58:59 hours
for the third leg. Almost 15 minutes behind of the aspirants for the
Champions ring, Baerbel Jungmeier and Werner Fischer of “Ciclopia Pro
Team” made it to the finish (4:13:52). “Rye Mix” placed third (4:26:44).
The couple from Norway therefore jumped on the podium for the third time
and now also sits on the third rank in the mixed table.

Despite the big lead on the third stage, Alison Sydor had enough
time to “enjoy the scenery. It wasn’t that hard compared to yesterday’s
climbing sections.”

Preview stage 4: Brixen – San Vigilio Marebbe-Enneberg

The fourth day is less challenging for the riding skills but demands
a lot of stamina. To enjoy the fantastic views in the Dolomites the
bikers have to make it up to the Rodenecker Alp on a long asphalt road
and tiny side paths. After the descent to the Pustertal, another
challenge of the JEANTEX BIKE TRANSALP awaits the riders at the end of
the day: the Kronplatz. About 1,200 metres of elevation gain have to be
pedalled. After a drive round of the top of the mountain on the panorama
track, the route runs down to San Vigilio Marebbe-Enneberg.

Περηφάνια μας γεμίζει το
BN cycling, που ήδη αυτή τη στιγμή συμμετέχει στο μεγαλύτερο και
σκληρότερο πανευρωπαϊκό τουρνουά ποδηλασίας βουνού, το JEANTEX BIKE
TRANSALP, με τους Χρήστο Μακρυγιάννη και Ουζουνίδη Γιώργο.

Η ελληνική ομάδα την πρώτη μέρα του αγώνα, το Σάββατο 14 Ιουλίου,
τερμάτισε στην 199η θέση στην κατηγορία των ανδρών, ενώ στο δεύτερο
στάδιο (2η μέρα), οι Χρήστος Μακρυγιάννης και Γιώργος Ουζουνίδης
κατέλαβαν την 183η θέση, με αποτέλεσμα να βρεθούν στη γενική στην 187η
θέση από τις συνολικά 600 ομάδες που συμμετέχουν στον αγώνα. Δυστυχώς,
την τρίτη μέρα λόγω τεχνικών προβλημάτων, οι δύο αθλητές τερμάτισαν στην
242η θέση, πέφτοντας έτσι στην 200η θέση στη γενική των τριών πρώτων
ετάπ. Ο αγώνας πάντως συνεχίζεται και οι δύο αθλητές αγωνίζονται ήδη για
τέταρτη μέρα στον αγώνα που βρίσκεται ήδη σε εξέλιξη.

Σημειώνεται
ότι το τουρνουά αυτό εφέτος κλείνει τα 10 χρόνια. Έχει ξεκινήσει στις 14
Ιουλίου από το Mittenwald της Γερμανία και θα τελειώσει στις 21 Ιουλίου
στο Riva del Garda της Ιταλίας.

Στον αγώνα συμμετέχουν 600 ομάδες των δύο ατόμων με επαγγελματίες
ποδηλάτες καθώς επίσης και φιλόδοξους ερασιτέχνες που θέλουν να δουν την
απόδοσή τους σε ένα αγώνα που αποτελείται από οκτώ στάδια και καλύπτει
μια απόσταση 600 χιλιομέτρων. Δεν μιλάμε για έναν συνηθισμένο αγώνα
mountain bike αλλά για ένα αγώνα όπου οι συμμετέχοντες προκαλούν τον
καιρό και κάθε φυσική πίεση, με χωμάτινους δρόμους και κακοτράχιλα
μονοπάτια και με μεγάλες υψομετρικές διάφορες, Κάθε αθλητής ιδίως ο
ερασιτέχνης ξεπερνάει τα όρια του, και έχει ελάχιστο χρόνο ξεκούρασης
για το επόμενο στάδιο του αγώνα. Έτσι ημέρα την ημέρα ο αγώνας γίνεται
όλο και ποιο δύσκολος λόγω της κούρασης που λειτουργεί αθροιστικά. Οι
ποδηλάτες θα περάσουν από τα ομορφότερα βουνά των κυριότερων σημείων της
Γερμανίας, της Αυστρίας, της Ελβετίας και της Ιταλίας.

Την Τετάρτη το πρωί αναχωρεί η εθνική ομάδα ορεινής ποδηλασίας
αποτελούμενη από τους Περικλή Ηλία, Γιώργο Παττέ, Γιάννη Μισαηλίδη την
Ελένη Διακάκη και τον έφηβο Αλέξη Κοκοβίκα για το Ευρωπαϊκό πρωτάθλημα
ορεινής ποδηλασίας που θα διεξαχθεί από την Πέμπτη 12 Ιουλίου μέχρι την
Κυριακή 15 του ιδίου μήνα.

Την πρώτη ημέρα (12/7) οι διεθνείς θα πάρουν μέρος στην
Σκυταλοδρομία με τον έφηβο Αλέξη Κοκοβίκα που πριν από λίγες ημέρες
κέρδισε το πανελλήνιο πρωτάθλημα ορεινής ποδηλασίας στην κατηγορία του,
την Ελένη Διακάκη και τους δύο από τους τρεις Άνδρες, ανάλογα με την
κατάσταση που θα βρίσκονται.

Την επόμενη (13/7) θα διεξαχθεί ο αγώνας εφήβων και το Σάββατο
(14/7) θα γίνει ο αγώνας Ανδρών που θα πάρουν μέρος οι Ηλίας, Παττές και
Μισαηλίδης.

Την ομάδα συνοδεύουν ο Ομοσπονδιακός προπονητής Σταμάτης Ρώμας και o
αρχηγός της αποστολής, Παυλάκης Παύλος. Οι διεθνείς θα επιστρέψουν στην
Αθήνα την Κυριακή το απόγευμα.

Πρωταθλητής Ελλάδας στην ορεινή ποδηλασία για το 2007 στέφθηκε ο
Περικλής Ηλίας, η ομάδα του Π.Ο. Πατρών κέρδισε τρία χρυσά με την
Αναστασία Παστουρματζή στις Γυναίκες, τον Αλέξανδρο Κοκοβίκα στους
Έφηβους αλλά και στην σκυταλοδρομία, ενώ πολύ καλή εμφάνιση
πραγματοποίησαν και οι νικητές στις κατηγορίες των Παίδων (Θοδωρής
Αμουτζιάς – Β.Α.Ο.), Νεανίδων (Αλεξάνδρα Κοκκινοπούλου Π.Γ.Σ. Λάρισας)
και Κορασίδων (Κατερίνα Καμπουράκη Α.Ο. Κύδων) στον Άγιο Αθανάσιο
Εδέσσης που διεξήχθη το πανελλήνιο πρωτάθλημα ορεινής ποδηλασίας από 6
έως 8 Ιουλίου 2007. Στον αγώνα πήραν μέρος 125 αθλητές και αθλήτριες σε
όλες τις κατηγορίες.

Άνδρες

Ο Περικλής Ηλίας του ΛΟΑΣΔΑ κατάφερε να στεφθεί για τρίτη φορά
πρωταθλητής Ελλάδας στους Άνδρες στην ορεινή ποδηλασία, έχοντας ακόμα
μια πρωτιά στους έφηβους, ενώ φέτος είναι επίσης πρωταθλητής Ελλάδας και
στην ποδηλασία δρόμου (Κατσιμίδι 10/6). Ο 21χρονος αθλητής από την
Ελευσίνα αποδείχτηκε 18 δευτερόλεπτα ταχύτερος από τον δεύτερο Γιώργο
Παττέ του Πρωτέα Κερατσινίου, ενώ στην τρίτη θέση έμεινε ο Κώνσταντίνος
Κωνσταντινίδης από τον Γ.Σ. Ηρακλής (+3’00’’). Την εξάδα συμπλήρωσαν οι
Γιάννης Μισαηλίδης (Α.Σ. Πρωτέας, +6’50’’), Γιώργος Σαραϊδάρης (Άτλας
Μυτιλήνης, +7’40’’) και Γιώργος Νικολάου (Α.Σ. Πρωτέας, +10’50’’).

Ο Ηλίας που πριν από λίγες ημέρες αγωνίστηκε στο παγκόσμιο
πρωτάθλημα δρόμου Β’ κατηγορίας που έγινε στο Κέιπ Τάουν της Νοτίου
Αφρικής και κατέλαβε την 11η θέση, δήλωσε για την νίκη του στον αγώνα
ορεινής ποδηλασίας: «Δεν ήθελα να πιεστώ πολύ και αυτό επειδή θα τρέξω
το Ευρωπαϊκό πρωτάθλημα στην Καππαδοκία το επόμενο Σαββατοκύριακο. Είμαι
πολύ χαρούμενος που κέρδισα φέτος το πανελλήνιο πρωτάθλημα στο δρόμο
αλλά και στο Μάουντεν Μπάικ, ενώ δείχνει ότι είμαι σταθερά σε καλή
κατάσταση το γεγονός ότι κερδίζω τα πανελλήνια πρωταθλήματα στο χώμα, τα
τελευταία τέσσερα χρόνια».

Γυναίκες

Η Αναστασία Παστουρματζή μετά τον τίτλο που πήρε στο πανελλήνιο
πρωτάθλημα δρόμου για ένατη φορά (τέσσερις σε αγώνες αντοχής και πέντε
στην Ατομική Χρονομέτρηση) στέφθηκε πρωταθλήτρια Ελλάδας και στην ορεινή
ποδηλασία το Σάββατο 7 Ιουλίου στον Άγιο Αθανάσιο Εδέσσης. Η αθλήτρια
του Π.Ο. Πατρών με χρόνο 1 ώρα, 58 λεπτά και 15 δευτερόλεπτα άφησε πίσω
της την Αθηνά Χατζηστύλη του Π.Ο. Κορωπίου (+6’03’’) και τρίτη την Δανάη
Στρουμπούλη του Π.Ε.Σ.Α. Αστέρας (+9’47’’).

Σκυταλοδρομία

Η ομάδα του Π.Ο. Πατρών αναδείχτηκε νικήτρια και στην Σκυταλοδρομία
όπου ο Άνδρας Νίκος Γερολυμάτος, η Γυναίκα Αναστασία Παστουρματζή, ο
Έφηβος Αλέξανδρος Κοκοβίκας και ο Παίδας Παναγιώτης Χιώνης με συνολικό
χρόνο 1 ώρα 18 λεπτά και 21 δευτερόλεπτα αναδείχτηκαν πρωταθλητές Ελλάδς
στο Τιμ Ριλέϊ (Team Relay), αφήνοντας δεύτερη την τετράδα του Τάλου Anek
Lines (Γιώργος Σκαλιδάκης, Ελευθερία Κανδηλάκη, Σταμάτης Πάλλης και
Γιάννης Φραγκιουδάκης) στα 2 λεπτά και 55 δευτερόλεπτα, ενώ τρίτος
έμεινε ο Α.Σ. Πρωτέας Κερατσινίου (Γιώργος Παττές, Αγγελική
Κουτσονικολή, Μάριος Μισαηλίδης και Χάρης Τακίδης) στα 3’58’’.

Έφηβοι

Το τρίτο χρυσό μετάλλιο πήρε η ομάδα του Π.Ο. Πατρών με τον Έφηβο
Αλέξανδρο Κοκοβίκα που ήταν 3 λεπτά και 18 δεύτερα πιο γρήγορος από τον
δεύτερο Δημήτρη Οικονόμου του Π.Γ.Σ. Λάρισας. Στον τρίτο σκαλί του
βάθρου ανέβηκε ο Στάθης Θεοδωρίδης του Β.Α.Ο. (+3’58’’).

Νεανίδες

Οι αδερφές Αλεξάνδρα και Δήμητρα Κοκκινοπούλου από τον Π.Γ.Σ.
Λάρισας έκαναν το 1-2 στις Νεανίδες, στον αγώνα ορεινής ποδηλασίας του
πανελληνίου πρωταθλήματος που έγινε στον Άγιο Αθανάσιο Εδέσσης (6-8/7).
Η Αλεξάνδρα αποδείχτηκε γρηγορότερη από την δίδυμη αδερφή της κατά 1
λεπτό και 50 δευτερόλεπτα, ενώ στο τρίτο σκαλί του βάθρου ανέβηκε η
Αγγελική Κουτσονικολή από τον Α.Σ. Πρωτέα με διαφορά 14 λεπτών και 2
δευτερολέπτων από την νικήτρια.

Παίδες – Κορασίδες

Στις μικρότερες κατηγορίες ο Θανάσης Αμουτζιάς του Β.Α.Ο. και η
Καμπουράκη Κατερίνα από τον Κύδωνα Χανίων πήραν τα χρυσά μετάλλια στις
κατηγορίες Παίδων και Κορασίδων, αντίστοιχα. Ο Αμουτζιάς άφησε δεύτερο
τον πολύ-πρωταθλητή στην ποδηλασία πίστας, Σταμάτη Πάλλη του Τάλου Anek
Lines (+0’39’’) και τρίτο ακόμα έναν πρωταγωνιστή του πανελληνίου
πρωταθλήματος πίστας, τον Απόστολο Τσοπούρογλου (Π.Γ.Σ. Λάρισας) με
διαφορά 5 λεπτών και 34ων δευτερολέπτων.

Η Χανιώτισσα Κατερίνα Καμπουράκη κέρδισε τον αγώνα στις Κορασίδες με
δεύτερη την Ελευθερία Κανδυλάκη (Ταλως Anek Lines, +6’16’’) και τρίτη
την Αφροδίτη Παναγιωτοπούλου (Θράκας Ιππεας, +8’46’’).
