The
UCI Mountain Bike World Cup presented by Shimano resumed after a month
hiatus in Champ?ry, Switzerland with round four of the Downhill and
Cross-country series.

Downhill Race: Gee Atherton (Commencal) took his second win of the
season to pull to within 13 points of men’s World Cup leader Greg
Minnaar (Santa Cruz Syndicate), while World Champion Emmeline Ragot
(Suspension Center) took the first World Cup victory of her career and
jumped into third in the women’s overall standings behind leader
Sabrina Jonnier (Maxxis-Rocky Mountain).

The 2010 Cross-country Mountain Bike World Cup is proving to be one
of the most hard fought ever, with new winners in both the men’s and
women’s races. This year, every round has seen a different rider at the
top of the podium and round four in Champ?ry, Switzerland was no
different, with Nathalie Schneitter (Colnago Arreghini Sudtirol) winning
the first World Cup of her career in the women’s race, and Florian
Vogel (Scott-Swisspower) taking the second of his career. In the men’s
series Julien Absalon (Orbea) managed to hold onto the leader’s jersey,
but the women’s race saw the fourth rider of the year don the white
World Cup leader’s jersey – Eva Lechner (Colnago Arreghini Sudtirol).

Periklis Ilias, finished in 124th place while Maria Michalogiannaki
did not managed to qualify to the finals.

πραγματοποιήθηκε ο τέταρτος γύρος του παγκοσμίου πρωταθλήματος mountain
bike με αγώνες downhill και cross- country.

Στο Downhill ο Gee Atherton (Commencal) πήρε τη δεύτερη νίκη του για
τη σεζόν ενώ στις γυναίκες η παγκόσμια πρωταθλήτρια Emmeline Ragot
(Suspension Center)κατόρθωσε την πρώτη νίκη της καριέρας της και
αναρριχήθηκε στην τρίτη θέση της γενικής πίσω από την Sabrina Jonnier
(Maxxis-Rocky Mountain).

O αγώνας Cross-country ήταν ένας από τους
πιο δύσκολους στο παγκόσμιο κύπελλο με νέους νικητές τόσο στην κατηγορία
των ανδρών όσο και στις γυναίκες. Η Nathalie Schneitter (Colnago
Arreghini Sudtirol) κατέκτησε το πρώτο παγκόσμιο στην καριέρα της και ο
Florian Vogel (Scott-Swisspower) πήρε τον τίτλο για δεύτερη φορά. Στην
δεύτερη θέση στην κατηγορία των ανδρών τερμάτισε ο Τσέχος πρωταθλητής
Ευρώπης Jaroslav Kulhavy ενώ στην τρίτη θέση τερμάτισε ο πρωταθλητής
κόσμου Nino Schurter .

Ο δικός μας , Περικλής Ηλίας πήρε τελικά την 124η θέση του αγώνα ενώ
η Μαρία Μιχαλογιαννάκη δεν κατάφερε δυστυχώς να προκριθεί στον τελικό.
Το παγκόσμιο κύπελλο συνεχίζεται το επόμενο Σαββατοκύριακο με τον πέμπτο
αγώνα στο Val di Sole της Ιταλίας.
